Hanging out with your boys.

Dear Lydia,
Here are your boys in order of importance.
Daddy
 Then Daddy.

Then these boys.

So funny.

Dear Lydia,
We sure like to make you laugh, but every time we try to get it on tape you stop. You'r just that into the phone. So we have to get tricky.

Sitter

Dear Lydia,
Good job on all your efforts to sit up. I'm sorry for all the head bumps. We really do try to catch you.

Ruth's

Dear Lydia,
I really hope I never have to leave. That just seems so sad. I know what it feels like to loose a parent, i can't imagine that in our relationship until your old and you have an amazing husband and many babies to take care of. And you have all your brothers and sisters to take care of you. But if it happens i hope you remember these good times. I guess that is partly why i love this blog so much, it's my plan B. I hardly have anything left of my daddy.
One thing i have is Ruth's Dinner! He took me there a couple of times and then one time i took your daddy there. Now it is a family tradition. They have the best breakfast. and dinner. and chocolate pudding. And you may or may not enjoy their root beer. ;)
Love you forever,
Mommy

No, there was nothing in that bottle. If there was it would have been on your shirt.

My favorite outfit...

is now too small.
Dear Lydia,
You are turning into such a big girl. Holding your bottle like a boss, sitting up, and, have i mentioned yet, you can almost crawl. You are so close I'm just want to yell, GO! Im  so proud of you and I love how much this independence makes you so gigglie. Then the other  half of me cries at the store because you used to fit in premie. You are still my little baby but I feel you slipping into independent toddler land. Come back. I need you. This is silly right? What am i going to do when you go to kindergarten? Oh how I am going to be so excited for summer all over again. Just those days where I can play with my best friend. Daddy thinks It's silly that your my best friend because you can't talk yet. But I understand you. Who needs words really? Except for there is this song that I sing to you. I hope your all grown up you still remember it. If not just click here:
Maybe don't watch the video, it's a little cheesy. But I love this song like i love you.
and this one too.

Get ready for this new tongue thing you do.
(Daddy says these are your "falosal raptor toes". falosal? hahahahahah that's not even a word.)

and then you were done. and this post should be too.
Love Always in every way, Mommy

Jillian's House

Dear Lydia,
We had a play date with all of my high school friends and their babies. Chontae was there with Jordan and Ben. Jillian with Alyia and Mika. And Amy with Kloie and Dallin. Alyia and Kloie thought you were their baby doll. Kloie held out your toys for you and wanted to hold you. I let her and took some pictures. You cuties.

Happy 7th...

Dear Lydia,
Good job turning 7 months. You sit up on your own, if only for a min. You can roll your self to the hallway. You are so close to crawling and I can feel your legs getting stronger. And did I mention your being a little sass? Love you baby. Here are some of my fave pics from today.

I was taking Pictures of you in the dark and they turned out great. With the flash in the dark this is usually what happens...

Brynn Barton

Dear Lydia,
Sometimes we get lucky and we just happen to be blessed with amazing people in our lives. I seem to be really lucky because I have so many amazing people in my life, like you and daddy. But before you and before I knew I loved daddy, my life revolved around my friends. You see I was really close to my friends growing up, mostly because I was very different from my parents. You see being a teenager is hard stuff because you are really trying to figure out who you are and who you want to become. Your family is a huge factor in that. I really hope that I will always be considered one of your best friends but I also know that the mother daughter relationship can sometimes make that hard. I promise to always try to do what is best for you and to you. But the truth is that sometimes your friends will seem more important. I so so hope that your friends will be as good as my friends. In school i tried to make friends with any and everyone and that really helped me find some real gems. Let me tell you about one of them. Brynn Barton. Brynn and I started being friends in 7th grade when I would go hang out with the girls at the other jr. high because the girls at my jr. high were being a little to a lot over dramatic. ;) Ashley went to the other jr. high and I knew some of them from Elementary, we would all meet back up in High School. Brynn was one of the nicest most friendly people I knew growing up. I never once heard her say anything mean about anyone. She made you feel so welcome in her life and oh my goodness there are few people as fun as Brynn in this world. She made everything better. Here is a few things that stand out in my mind. A lot of our friends were on the drill team except me and Brynn, but we went to every drill performance throughout our high school days. Brynn threw a Miss America party like her mom and aunts had always done when they were young. We all got dressed up in 80's dresses and even our guy friends showed up to escort us to the door, but then they had to go. During the commercials we did little stunts like show swim suits off and such. Brynn and I were the only ones to do a talent. We were ridicules and we had so much fun. Skinny dipping. Brynn trying to drink coke out of a soda bong. (I will tell you what that is someday). There were so many good times.
A year ago today, Brynn was hit and killed while riding a bike. You came with me to her funeral via my belly. You were almost born on her birthday, November 8th. I really think Brynn had a lot to do with who I am today. She was a great example of how to treat others, a great example of charity. I always knew that I wanted to be like her in that way. Hopefully you will learn to be like her too.
Love Mom.

The bath cry.

Dear Lydia,
For you it's a big deal when mommy takes a shower. you can't just sit in your chair with your toys because in your little mind mommy is a meanie and will never give you a bath. So its best to scream while she takes a shower so that she will stop leaving you out. I always give you a bath after. always. so i taped a video so you can see what i have to deal with, so you can see how much i love you.
Your so cute still.
and then i taped your happy bath.
you love your little ducky family.

That time you met the pool.

Dear Lydia,
We took you swimming for the first time which i knew you were gonnna love because you really love yourself a bath. (post on that topic to follow) But that really huge bath was cold and you weren't so sure what was wrong with your love. We will try again when the pool is a little more warm. you will love it for sure. Meanwhile you keep rocking that hat and swim suit.
